Anya Volz is a New York City-based comic originally born in Vermont. Her show has been praised as surprisingly funny and not even that preposterous by people from all over America. She's a contributor writer and creator of content to Riot Fest, The Hard Times The Hard Times, and Macaulay culkin Bunny Ears. Her writing has appeared in BuzzFeed as well as Vulture. She also appeared at a variety of national comedy events such as New York Comedy Festival & Women in Comedy Festival. Co-hosting Best Mistakes, a podcast on messed up comedy co-hosted by Brooklyn comic Nika Lomazzo. Pre-covid she produced and cohosted Our Time of the Week at The Stand Comedy Club main room as well as the weekly show Thirst Trap with Anya Volz which has taken place in legendary venues such as Union Hall Caveat and House of YES and has been written up by The New York Times and Time Out New York. Buenos Aires was her home until she turned 6, and the family moved in Victoria in London. According to Taylor-Joy the relocation was difficult and she refused to master English in the hopes of moving back to Argentina. Her school had to change from Northlands in order to attend Hill House. She enrolled later at Queen's Gate School in which she was a ballet student and took part in school-based plays. After 16 she decided to leave the school in order to focus on acting full time. From a young age Taylor-Joy was aware of her desire to work as an actress. her goals were realized when she was approached for a modeling gig by Sarah Doukas the founder of Storm Management.
